I usually don’t want all of Game Day on Saturday mornings, but today was an exception. In case you didn’t get up at 9:00 am (Central time), ESPN’s College GameDay was in Raiderland this morning. This is the first visit for the guys to our lovely city. I was happy to see such a huge crowd. If you caught the show, I work in the building to the left of the set. Postman and I drove by campus yesterday after he got out of the hospital to see the set. Have a few pictures (see below). The funniest part was at the end of College Game Day when Corso puts on the head of the mascot who he thinks will win the big game. This morning he put on Raider Red’s head then was handed two shotguns and fired away. The funny part…his fellow broadcasters Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit ducked as the shots were heard on the set. Former basketball coach Bobby Knight didn’t even flinch. I swear it was the funniest thing I had ever seen.
Check this photo out…it’s some tailgaters gettin’ ready for this weekend. I have to kind of chuckle at these tailgaters. Where are the flags? Where are the BBQ pits? How come most of them just parked their RVs? Perhaps these people should take some lessons from us NASCAR fans. I have to say though I am happy to see this kind of enthusiasm across the campus.
